Invisalign © treatment consists of a series of practically invisible and removable aligners which are changed every two weeks for a new set of aligners. Each of the aligners is manufactured especially for your teeth and only for your teeth. As you change aligners, your teeth begin to move, little by little, week after week, until they are straight and in the final position prescribed the dentist. In addition, a virtual 3D treatment plan (thanks to ClinCheck® software) shows you the movement to be followed by your teeth during the treatment. This enables you to know from the very start the appearance your teeth will have at the end of the treatment. On the basis of the ClinCheck programme results, the clear aligners are manufactured and made to measure, specifically for you.

Once the dentist has determined that Invisalign © is an adequate treatment for you, he or she will prepare a detailed treatment plan from which the practically invisible aligners will be made to measure for you. During the first consultation, the dentist will speak with you about the problems presented by your teeth and will analyse the type of results that he or she would expect to achieve. If Invisalign © is appropriate for you, a treatment plan will be prepared bearing in mind your objectives. The dentist will take impressions of your teeth and send them to the Invisalign © © laboratories for their processing.

The impressions of your teeth will be digitalised so that the dentist can analyse the three dimensional digital image of your teeth (ClinCheck®simulation). The dentist will prescribe and review the precise movement of your teeth throughout your personal treatment plan. You will be able to see a virtual representation of your teeth before, during and after the Invisalign ©treatment, in such a way that you will be able to see how your smile will end up at the end of the treatment.

Once you and the dentist have agreed the treatment plan, your aligners will be made to measure, which you will have to wear for two weeks before changing to the next set of aligners. Although the number of aligners varies for each person, the complete treatment tends to include between 18 and 36 aligners, for both the upper and lower teeth, which means that the treatment will last between 9 and 18 months, depending on your specific case.

You must wear the aligners day and night, apart from when you eat, brush your teeth or use dental floss, if you want to complete the treatment on the date established by you and the dentist. You must attend the consulting rooms every 4 to 6 weeks for the purposes of monitoring your progress and receiving the next set of aligners. You will notice small movements throughout the entire treatment process. Your teeth will gradually move until a balanced and healthy smile is achieved.
